Short description of the initiative:
Our mission is to provide all audiences throughout Ireland with access to the best of Irish, world and independent cinema, via our national network of non-profit and voluntary organisations.
access>CINEMA's purpose is to deliver a diverse range of quality cinema, that is not available on commercial cinema screens, to local Irish audiences; to provide advice, expertise and support for cultural film programming and technical presentation; to support and present the work of Irish filmmakers; and to grow, develop and promote opportunities to expand access to and participation with cultural cinema exhibition regionally.
We support member groups with film programming advice
information on technical requirements on all cinema exhibition formats delivery of promotional/ support material so groups can actively promote their film programmes locally developing and touring original film programmes promoting high quality programming, presentation and technical standards for film exhibition
Our members are primarily a mixture of professional arts centres and voluntary film societies and they exist in many different types of venues, both large and small, throughout the country.
Our success relies on developing and maintaining partnerships with a variety of local organisations so as to facilitate and increase access to cultural film exhibition.
These partnerships are often unique to the individual area's requirements and circumstances. We continue to seek new opportunities to expand the provision of cultural cinema regionally.
